Ok, aside from the fact that the show itself has begun to ship it, this was a masterful stroke of manipulation from Hannibal playing on Will’s absent father and guilt complexes over killing Hobbs, while at the same time diverting attention from his own admission of his involvement and cover up of Nick Boyle’s death. The show has been making me forget just how much automatic trust the characters put in Lecter, and damn if that isn’t fascinating and horrifying to see.

Just got back from seeing STID, major spoilers under the cut!

For once I’m glad that Tumblr spoiled a few of the major plot twists for me, because if I had gone into the theater without knowing that Benedict was going to be Khan, I don’t think I would have enjoyed the movie as much as I did. I’m still really disappointed in Abrams (and a few members of the cast who blatantly told us not to worry and said he wouldn’t be Khan) for pulling this bullshit though. I love Benny and he did an amazing job, but was it really so much to ask to cast someone who wasn’t white?

That being said,

THE REST OF THE MOVIE WAS PRETTY FUCKING GOOD (in spite of the whiplash the action scenes gave me and the gross female objectification)

SCOTTY WAS THE BEST OH MY GOD SCOTTYSCOTTYSCOTTY
